Blue Ridge Dairy was founded in 1999 after Paul visited Italy and was inspired to make artisanal mozzarella in the US. Paul and his wife Alison purchased a 10-acre farm in Lovettsville, Virginia, with no prior farming experience. They began selling at farmers markets in 2000, and the business has grown extensively. The dairy is now located in Sterling, Virginia, specializing in artisanal cheeses and yogurt.
